Peter Ferreira's violin repertoire is very rich and diverse.
Possessing unique violin technique, Mr. Ferreira bravely and successfully challenges many of the traditional classical repertoire including violin concertos, unaccompanied works, sonatas, encores for violin and orchestra or piano including works of J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, J. Sibelius, P. Tchaikovsky, A. Vivaldi, A. Berg, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Haydn, Kabalevsky, Khachaturian, Schumann and many others.
His repertoire is also very rich in world music influenced by his travels and his Portuguese (European) background and includes compositions by Astor Piazzolla, Jobin and Gardel to name a few.
Peter Ferreira also performs his own compositions/arrangements and many lesser-known works and arrangements composed/arranged for him by various musicians. In 2007 Peter commissioned Don Nardo an American composer to write a concerto for violin and Portuguese guitar that will be performed by Peter and his long time friend Paulo Soares. This concerto will introduce the Portuguese guitar to the classical world along with the violin in a 100% classical setting.
Mr. Ferreira is always interested in learning new repertoire and welcomes new works. If you have a composition you would like to have reviewed by Mr. Ferreira, please click here for contact information.
