Even more impressive than the overwhelming technique is Mr. Ferreira's musicality. His solo playing overflowed with subtleties and conveyed an encounter with an extraordinarily cultivated musician.

I just listened to your Spring Sonata--very beautiful...and for what it's worth I enjoy your violin sound and your Bach much more than I do Ilya. I keep on wanting to remind him of Viktor Tretyakov who made a great recording of the Paganini 1 and then so far as I know disappeared. I just don't know if Tretyakov was so full of himself as Ilya apparently is.
